Behind the scenes at our new distillery

Updated: Oct 4, 2021

We’re excited to open the doors of our new state-of-the-art distillery, welcoming guests to our new visitors centre. After three years of planning & preparation, we can’t wait to welcome you to our new home at Treguddick Manor, Launceston.

Our dedicated team has spent the past three years renovating an old agricultural building, sat in the grounds of the historic manor house; after a few covid-related hurdles, we’re excited to finally be open!

Our Treguddick distillery stands at over 620 square meters in size and is home to a , bar, cafe, and distillery shop. Along with a lakeside patio area, perfect for relaxing in the glorious Cornish sunshine with your favourite tipple. As you can see from the photos above, it’s been one hell of a renovation, but a journey we are proud to have taken on.

We’re also excited to take you on a Distillery Tour & Tasting, giving an authentic distillery experience and captivating you with the intricacies of making the highest quality spirits. Whilst on the tour you’ll also have the opportunity to wander around the geodesic grow domes, offering a sensory experience like no other. Inspired by a local landmark, the Eden Project, they are filled with a vast variety of plants and botanicals sprouting across the 900 square meters of growing space, including juniper for the gin, a range of citrus trees, and fresh herbs for garnishes.

Each experience is completed with a guided tasting, where you’ll have the opportunity to sample a range of our award-winning spirits. Plus, if you’re a gin fanatic or rum connoisseur, we offer specific tours on each of these spirits. Each Tour & Tasting lasts 90 minutes and costs £20 per person. Click here to book.

“This has been a real journey for us: we have spent the last three years planning, designing, project managing and building our new distillery, and now it’s finally ready to share with the world. We’ve poured our heart and soul into building a new home worthy of our wonderful spirits, and so we can’t wait to welcome everybody inside to show them around!” Comments James Lawrence, General Manager at Treguddick.

We can't wait to welcome those who want to stop by for a coffee and cake, an afternoon tea or even to enjoy a cocktail on the patio, in the glorious Cornish sunshine. We’re proud to be working with a variety of local suppliers to source the freshest seasonal ingredients; carefully selecting Cornish Coffee for their quality beans, Philip Warren for their high-quality cured meats, and Thatchers Cider from Somerset, to name a few.

The bar is also an impressive feature of the new distillery, stocking over 40 different spirits and liqueurs, all made by the distillery - which we believe makes the bar one of a kind! Whether you fancy a mouth-watering vodka, a divine gin, an experimental single malt, luscious liqueur, or a tipple of Britain’s original rum, Old Salt, you will most definitely be delighted.
