SHIPPING & REFUNDS
We are always open to speculative applications from lovely and enthusiastic people to join our team as field based Spirit Ambassadors, on a casual basis.
If you’re passionate about good food and drink, meeting new people, and working with high quality products with a genuine point of difference, then this role could be for you. The role is casual and field based, with flexible working hours.
Our passion is for good food and drink. Our craft is to use alcohol as a medium for capturing and expressing brilliant flavours, using all the scientific knowledge available to us. Our aim is to distil the world's finest spirits & liqueurs. No shortcuts, no compromises. This means distilling every one of our spirits ourselves, from scratch, in genuinely small batches. We employ every technique available to us to achieve the highest quality and best taste; regardless of time, effort or expense.
Founded in 2011 by Dr John Walters, we consider ourselves to be England’s original small batch distillers. In that time, we have accumulated an unrivalled wealth of distilling experience, distilling well over 100 different products for ourselves and our clients. In fact, our Old Salt Rum was the first rum to be distilled in the UK.
Our award winning distillery at Great Yeldham Hall, Essex, produces the UK's widest variety of spirits & liqueurs distilled under one roof: including vodkas, gins, rums, brandies, sambuca, single malt, liqueurs, and even brand new spirits we've invented. Our mission is to show the world just how delicious spirits can be when you drink the best: and that’s where you come in.
We have a flexible range of opportunities available, with a variety of hours and days required. These include:
Events - representing and selling English Spirit at a wide variety of events, ranging from farmers’ markets to some of England’s most prestigious food and drink festivals. These primarily take place at weekends, and pay 10% commission on the day's sales (or £75, whichever is higher) plus mileage.
Talks - taking our tours 'on the road' by hosting talks & tastings with a variety of venues, including pubs, clubs and societies. These usually take place in evenings, and pay £50 plus 10% commission of sales made at the end of the talk.
Trade - selling the English Spirit collection to trade customers, from pubs and bars to shops and delis. This is commission only, undertaken in your own time, and pays 10% commission on all sales made.
The flexibility of the role means that you can concentrate on all of the above, or focus on just one element. Whatever you think would be the best fit for your skills, we’ll be happy to discuss a bespoke role that suits everybody best.
What We’re Looking For
A driving license and a vehicle capable of transporting our spirits are required. Otherwise, no particular experience or qualification is essential. We are simply looking for enthusiastic people that are passionate about spirits, good food and good times, who would enjoy working with one of the UK’s top spirit producers to share our products far and wide.
Why work with us
Product quality: You will be representing the UK's most innovative and experienced distillery: the quality of our products is second to none. If you’ve already tried our spirits you'll know what we mean.
Flexible role/hours: However many hours you are looking to work with us, we can accommodate; and make sure you focus on opportunities that play to your natural strengths. The role is casual, with no franchise fees or any funny business: we give you the tools you need to sell our goods, you bring your energy and enthusiasm, with immediate payment for events. We keep it simple so you can focus on the good stuff.
Training and support: Full brand training and resource documents will be provided once you start, including shadowing experienced Spirit Ambassadors at tours and events in the field, and biannual team days at one of our two sites. Additionally, our central team will be on hand to provide any support or knowledge you require.
Access to your own box of samples: Essential for your training as an expert on the UK's finest spirits!
