Say hello to our new distillery in Cornwall!
We’re incredibly excited to announce that our new distillery will be opening later this summer at Treguddick Manor in Cornwall.
Our team can’t wait to get to work at our state-of-the-art distillery in the grounds of the historic manor house, near Launceston, which will be opening later this summer. Over the past three years, we have been working away, converting a derelict agricultural building into an architecturally designed space and the spectacular new home of English Spirit.
At the center of the new distillery will sit the custom 2,500 litre copper still, engineered by our founder,
Dr. John Walters. Utilising his knowledge of biochemistry and distillation, he developed the design from the original 200 litre alembic stills he engineered for Great Yeldham Hall. The new still has been designed to ensure ultimate control when it comes to harnessing the heart of the spirits, ensuring we continue to produce the very highest quality spirits and liqueurs for you to enjoy.
We’re not quite ready to open yet, with some of the build jobs left to complete, and fresh paint going on the walls; our building team is working away to ensure all the fixtures and fitting are in place and surpass our high standards.
When the distillery opens later this summer, Tours & Tasting experiences will be available to book at Treguddick. These will allow guests to learn about the intricacies of the distillery process; from how we distil such a wide range of spirits from scratch, to the complex process of fermenting sugar cane molasses, the base ingredient we use to create our glorious range of rums.
We can’t wait to fascinate guests whilst watching the distilling and bottling process first-hand, before wandering through our geodesic domes on the west paddock, which house our growing botanicals; this will be a sensory experience like no other. The tour is completed with a guided tasting, allowing guests to sample the varied range of spirits on offer.
This isn’t all what will be on offer at Treguddick, we’ll have even more exciting news to share with you in the coming months, so keep your eyes peeled! To find out more information about the new distillery, please click here.
